Legendary Dispute

Question: A friend of mine says your NPC gods get nothing associated until Legend 12. I seem to recall you saying that your NPC gods get one thing associated at Legend 9, one more at Legend 10, and one more at Legend 11. Who is right?

You are correct; we give all new gods one associated power at Legend 9, another at Legend 10 and another at Legend 11 (after that, they have to get their own new ones by getting purview Avatars or Ultimate Attributes). We use this pattern for PCs, and also apply it to NPC gods, so a Legend 9 god should have one purview or Epic Attribute associated with him that he can pass on to his kids, a Legend 10 goddess should have two, and so forth.

Your friend might be confused by the original Scion rules, where no purviews can be associated until a Legend 12 god has a purview Avatar (though even the original rules allow Legend 9 gods to have Epic Attributes associated as long as they have eight or more dots in them).

It's something that should probably be added to the house rules section of our site, huh? Off to update!

    1. Sorry. :( We weren't very clear on it - we talked a lot about it for PCs, but only vaguely touched on it for NPCs, so it was an understandable misunderstanding.

It's a useful yardstick for estimating NPC gods' Legend rating, though. If you can only come up with two associated powers for them... well, hey, they must be Legend 10. :)

    2. While I was reading your reply I had a brainstorm that made me remember saying something that might make someone think that at some point....but then when I went to type it the thought died in my head....

      Im sorry.
