Guest vlogging continues! There's no intro this time because it's really just the second half of last week's epic one-hour marathon, but the players are back to tell you more of their opinions. And they're just enjoyable.
Question: A lot of Scions are going to be illegitimate children of their divine parents. Could you mention the social ramification for bastard children in the different cultures we have Pantheons for?
Question: In any of your games, have Scions ever been revealed to the public? If so, how did the public react - to both their existence, and their parents existence?
Question: My group constantly fights. Nothing much gets done. We're all good friends in real life, but when we sit down for a game everything goes to hell. Mostly it is the fault of Virtues, but not always. Any advice?
Question: It seems like Scion is full of great victories and horrible failures. What would you say are your best MVP Scions and worst screw-up Scions in your games?
Question: Is Vidar proud of Folkwardr? I'm curious as to Vidar's fatherly feelings towards his new son.
Question: Bring in the players for this one! If YOU were a Scion, which pantheon would you like to be a Scion of? Which pantheon (speaking strictly from their Virtues) do you think you'd be a part of by that metric? For bonus points, what purviews and Epics would you give yourself or see yourself getting? I've seen too many arguments from recent questions, hopefully this one is just pure fun. Right? Please?
Our players are some pretty great folks. A round of applause to them for doing this and being such sports about it!
So many happy faces to be done, awww.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, awesome blog ^^
Geoff, following John's advice, i'm telling you, You're the best god ever.
I was in doubt at first, but that meeting with Nanna (well, both of them, but the one where you convinced her to accept you nailed it down) made your god a definite winner.
Ohh, and good job on the fanfic Anne, i am really enjoying it.
Careful, Sowiljr's ego may inflate until it swallows other pantheons instead of just the entire Aesir!
DeleteI'm glad you enjoy the fiction! :) I'm sorry it's ground to a halt for right now; the tendonitis makes typing difficult, and the drugs to manage it make me a little bit too loopy for good writing anyway, but hopefully both will calm down and let me get a little more work done soon.
I do hope you take good care to become fully healed before resuming writing! as we all know, -2 boxes take a longer time to heal than -0! a not-quite cured sickness could become even more bothersome if you damage yourself further with good intentions ;)
DeleteAnd i vote for Geoff's Ego to swallow the aztecs too. Geoff as king of two pantheons! huzzay!
John Doe and Vivian were in a relationship?! He had no idea! Vivian should've explained things better.... You should probably find his soul, if it still exists... (John can I play him if they bring him back?)
ReplyDeletelol, yes, sure
DeleteThey know he wasn't at Ragnarok... but that's all they know. :)
DeleteAs the girl to ask the last question, I was giddy and giggly the entire time, as soon as they were just stumped and doomed almost from the get go. You all seem like you'd be fun to play with! Thanks for setting some time aside for this, it was great fun, for me at least.
ReplyDeleteGeoff/Mat brought up an interesting point regarding the Deva and Avataras. Both Vishnu (as Krishna) and Lakshmi (as Tulasi) have married and had children with other people. Hell, VIshnu as Mohini has had a son by Shiva, and Parvati and Lakshmi are both fine with it. Parvati is also fine with having Durga and Kali as co-wives.
ReplyDeleteThe Deva (and Hinduism) hold monogamy to be of paramount importance. They just happen to be very very 'flexible' in what they term monogamous.
I'd say, overall, that the Trimurti and Co. have all their Scions through Avataras. It saves everyone a lot of hassle. By contrast, the older Vedic Deva are much more likely to do it the old-fashioned way.
