Misplaced Nemontemi?

Question: Are the five days that Nut gave birth to Osiris and his siblings called "demon days"?

Honestly, we've seen that around the internet and heard that it's repeated in Rick Riordan's novels, but we've never heard of it in any reputable Egyptian mythology source, so we doubt it.

We'd be glad to hear of any source we're missing, of course, but Wikipedia's not doing it for us. As far as we know, Demon Days is a Gorillaz album.

  1. The name "Demon Days" is made-up rubbish as far as I know. They were called "Heriu-renpet", "between the years", and were not so much "cursed" as they were days of creation, the days during which the new year was born and thus still vulnerable and during which Sekhmet's minions, the demons of pestilence, roamed freely. Sacrifices to Set were made during these days to ask him to protect the cosmic order (or maybe just to make him leave it alone at least for a week, I'm not sure about that ;) )

(It's German, but that's what Google translator is for, isn't it?)
The article quotes literally from a scholarly resource, so it's reliable enough, methinks.

    1. Thanks, that's very helpful! None of my quick sources here had a particular name listed for them, but that all sounds like it makes perfect sense. I'll see if we can find one of those Egyptian calendrical sources listed there - looks like interesting reading!
