The Web of Fate Visualized

Question: Could we have a relationship chart of your PCs/NPCs? It seems really confusing.

Yep, you definitely can... but I'm not sure, given how many PCs and NPCs there really are, that it'll really clear up the confusion.

This chart, lovingly crafted during hours when I should have been sleeping instead, is pretty straightforward. Click to get the biggest version Blogger's capable of handling, or you can see the full-sized version here.

As you can see, three years of gameplay means a lot of people get involved. This is technically a "simplified" chart from the full one - several of the less pivotal NPCs have been omitted (sorry, Canadian Vanir brigade!) and only Scions are represented on the chart, leaving out gods, Titans, Fatebound mortals and other people that couldn't possibly have been included without causing immediate cerebral hemorrhage in viewers. There are also a few people who technically ought to have connections who don't, mostly because I couldn't find a way to get them together without getting lost in the Forest of People Aurora Knows or sucked into the vortex of festering animosity that is Kane Taoka. Note also that the Eastern Promises PCs are not present; they're technically in a different setting and predate everyone on this chart except for Woody by at least a century anyway.

This is also pre-Ragnarok; a lot of shit went down during the Gotterdaemmerung that changed some peoples' opinions of each other and forged new connections between some who hadn't met one another before, but there was already a pretty insane amount of detail going on, and John convinced me that my time might be better spent eating and sleeping instead.

And, of course, there are a lot of NPCs on here that you guys have probably never heard of, because as usual the fiction hasn't begun to include everything that's going on yet. You'll just have to consider them tantalizing teaser characters and wonder where they came from and what they're up to.

If your confusion has only increased, I apologize. Feel free to ask any questions about specifics you like, and we'll try to help unmuddy these Scion-infested waters.

  1. ...Etzli...is the most liked...and least hated...? But...Brain...hurt.

    1. It's all those Aztecs. They're pretty fond of her in spite of her idiosyncracies, on account of all the saving them she's always doing. If it helps, the missing Canadian Vanir Brigade really, really hates her. She tends to have more gods pissed off at her than other Scions - she pretty much ignores everyone who isn't an Aztec or Geoff, so she doesn't pick up a lot of solid relationships.

Besides, Woody can hate somebody hard enough for an entire army. He's on it.

  2. It looks like Alison has a lot of enemies - or it might be the hatefest that always surrounds Kane has encompassed her?

Did he become nice in your saga or was he stringing her along?

    1. Alison has five dots of Vengeance and no sufferance of fools at all. She's not necessarily a bad person, but that doesn't stop her from having a lot of people she wants to shoot in the head (and vice versa). (I'm sure Kane's influence is not helping at all, though. He's a bad man.)

I would never call Kane "nice"; Kane is usually out for number one only and tends to be a pretty callous dude when it comes to worrying about other people. He was almost certainly using Alison for her technological expertise at least at first, but whether or not he actually cares about her is actually kind of uncertain. Certainly she believes he does, despite her high Perception, and he did rescue and deliver Colin to her despite the fact that he hates the kid, so it's possible that there's real feeling there. Then again, if you believe Dionysus and Saki, he's pretty much cheating on her every minute they're not in the same room, so who knows?

Man, this chart makes it really easy to find the social powerhouses; they're the ones with a vortex of arrows all aimed at their faces.
