Talos

How would you guys put Talos into your games? Would he be a relic, a creature, a follower? What would he have? Cause it sounds like a cool birthright idea to me, but I do not know if it would be or not. Thanks for answering!

Like several greek characters, one of the problems with Talos is that there are many "versions" of the story. Instead of repeating them, here is wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talos.

For ease, we'll say you're going with the most popular theory, made popular by the adventures on the Argo. Talos is a massive giant, with an achilles heel of sorts.

From there...Id say hes probably not a birthright of any sort. Probably a dude with "free"-ish will that gets to have a story and do things. And, following the myths, more then likely an antagonist to most heros. Greek heros dont like dudes getting in the way of stuff they wanna do.

If we're looking for relic foddere specifically though, Id say hes probably too massive to be a birthright(maybe a god level one), but a smaller version of him. Almost like the brother from Full Metal Alchemist could make a good demigod(maybe hero) follower.
I definitely dont think itd be a creature, and a follower would fit better then it just being a relic.

Another option(one of our characters is looking to do this) is a character becoming a talos-esque person themselves. If/when that happens Ill do a write-up of how I handled it, and what changes he went through.

  1. As much of a Greek Myth fan as I am, I still read that and first thought "Skyrim." Probably because I've joked about creating the nine divines and the Daedra as a pair pantheons before.
