So I've finally completed an outline/mock up for the first section of eight classes Ive set for a term of "storyteller's school." Teaching storytelling has always been a dream of mine, but it seemed like something that people wouldnt be interested in. However, recently on the blog there was some positive feedback in this direction, and I've decided to take the plunge and go ahead and write a first session of classes.
Im still not sure if this is something people would want to spend money on, but I'm hopeful. If at least 3 people sign up for the class, it will definitely be happening. And it will be an awesome adventure that is certain to help beginner and expert alike. Im gonna allow 2 weeks for sign ups and post a reminder probably twice more in those two weeks. To make sure everyone gets an equal and enjoyable experience I'm going to put a hard cap on class size at 10(first come first serve etc). Payment will lock in your seat.
If a scheduling conflict arises for you, or you are unable to particpate for any reason, we will of course give a full refund(sans whatever fee paypal charges us). If you signed up but the class ends up not happening, you will get a full refund(we'll suck up the paypal cost for this one).
There is tons of information and class description in the link below. But if you have any other questions please feel free to put them in the comments or email them to ampstorytellers@gmail.com

To spice up this post, I've added my cat Medea posing. And Anne's cat Achilles trying her(yes achilles is a girl) best not to be photo'd.

This is so exciting! The pdf mentioned all but how/where to sign up and how to do a payment(Paypal yes, but what the email itself for the course is), is it possible to post that here in the comments?
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Alex
Great point Alex, thank you. For payment we find PayPal easiest, but if you come up with another option we can make that work. For letting us know you've signed up, please shoot us an email with your Paypal name or make a note on the PayPal payment.
DeleteWhat he means is, you can use slipsilver {AT} gmail {dot} com as the PayPal address. :) You can use the donation button on the sidebar also if you want to, but since that's specifically for donations instead of payments and PayPal can get cranky about that, it'd be better not to.
DeleteJust signed up! This is gonna be awesome.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo!
DeleteWish I could pay for this, but being a poor college student I need the money else where. Lol, this would surely help me with the question you answered on the Vlog. lol.
ReplyDeleteI hear that. No worries - we'll keep blogging and trying to help you out that way. :)
DeleteAre you planning on giving advanced classes/discussions eventually ?
ReplyDeleteI see that John is a comment slacker. I think he's definitely planning on doing further or more specific things in the future if there's enough interest for them.
