Question: Which stories are for Geoff and Sangria's adventures and backstories?
For now, that would be Better Next Time, which includes both of them as well as Sophia, Goze and Marcus. As we get close to Ragnarok they'll run into the Skeins of Fate group and sort of blend, but I'll warn you when that happens.
The game's name comes from Geoff's tendency, once his group has completely ruined something, to promise various gods that he promises they'll do better next time. Honest.
I see, thanks
ReplyDeleteAlso in your opinion would Sangria be better off with Jay then with Geoff? Or would she not really care?
Difficult to say. She'd probably be a lot less confused and upset about all of Geoff's Norse-centric ideas and wants, but also a lot more embroiled in Tezcatlipoca politics. Jay would be a lot more of what she expected and understood how to deal with, but he'd probably also use her a lot more ruthlessly.
DeleteSangria doesn't do a lot of touchy-feely emotions, so she's hard to read. Jay would trip her Virtues a lot less than Geoff does and she would probably be "happier" (as happy as she gets, anyway) a lot of the time, but Geoff does actually love her and care about her wellbeing more than most people, so it's hard to tell how to balance those against each other.
thanks for your opinion.
ReplyDeleteSo if the better next time group is all about fucking up most of the situations they land in, how are they still alive, either from the fall out of their own mistakes, or from the anger of all the gods whose plans they ruined?
ReplyDeleteThey do actually succeed at things sometimes; despite their name, we always used to tease the Skeins group that the BNT group was the "all-star" team compared to their constant string of disasters.
DeleteGeoff is also very good at damage control and making sure that important people like him, which goes a long way toward keeping him (and by extension others in his group) from getting a smiting to the face.
If you're a Scion, you're ruining SOME God's plans or you're doing it wrong.
