Anne's Fiction Corner

Hey, have you guys missed Russel? He's missed you, and a whole bunch of other stuff besides! And to tell us all about it, we have a new piece of fiction from his player. We present Punch Drunk: Afraid of the Dark, a new chronicle of Russel's adventures in increasingly dire straits in New York City.

Russel is still confused, upset, and unsure what he's supposed to be doing, only now he has a bunch of new people who don't like him and make things more difficult to add to the equation. Such is the life of a Scion.

  1. "Poor kid has seen enough after that sex dungeon incident."

I would very like to know more intimate details about this sex dungeon, if you please.

    1. Heh. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's probably not nearly interesting enough to warrant detail.

There was a Fire Demon who had taken over the body of a dominatrix who ran a sex dungeon, she used like an AOE power to get everyone in the area into a rave of sex/violence. Russel killed her, and while he and Skylar were able to resist the AOE power, they still felt some of it's effects which was not a fun experience.

  2. I don't see how you can mention a dominatrix with the ability to turn an entire area into a scene from Event Horizon, and still claim that it probably doesn't warrant detail. You must live an adventurous life, Mr. Bosch.

That aside, AWESOME-CRAZY-BOMBASTIC-SOULFUL story that you've written by the way!

    1. Why thank you :) I hope people enjoy them, they are mostly an exercise in character for me to reflect how Russel feels about all these events.

I mean, the scene was shown as Russel remembered it in the previous fiction, the difficulty is when I write for this character I don't want to overly describe the surrounds that someone of his low perception/intelligence couldn't take into 3rd person narrative levels of detail. It's more how the world effects him directly rather than what say Skylar is able to take in. I am sure if Skylar ever puts out fiction you'll get each scene described to the fullest! (Which would be an adventure in itself.)

  3. Wait, Corey doesn't have Cornucopia...and even if he did no way could a Hero get that many successes...Oh My Gods! It really is a miracle!

Anyway, it was lovely as usual :) Can we look forward to another trilogy? (crosses fingers)

Two little questions though...why is Russell calling Alan Benny? And what book is Russel talking about in the first paragraph?

    1. Corey DOES have Cornucopia! It's just not on his sheet. And he deeded and Channeled like crazy. It was awesome.

Well I have been breaking up each "Story" into two chapters so far except for the prelude. So I think it's not out of the question to expect a second part after this group's story finishes ;) .

Alan, who was a known member of the Michael Chambers Terrorist Cell (tm), was using the alias of "Benjamin" and had swapped his face using appearance powers in order to be able be a hero and not be hunted down. Poor Pirate King. (We all also thought he was some kind of pirate.)

As for the book it was referencing "Holes" by Louis Sachar, a book I adored as a young ten year old Alex.

    2. We suspect that something about using Cornucopia in this particular situation was what triggered its impressive yield, but nobody has really occult studied enough to be sure. (Also, mea culpa, their sheets aren't updated for the past two games yet.)

  4. I just got done reading the fiction.
    It was good as always.
A question though: What is Russel's hate for timothy based on? i don't really remember timothy doing anything specific?

    1. He ate Benny (Alan) in front of us, not to mention eating several other unknown mortals. He already didn't get along with the thing but now he views him as an outright monster.

    2. what he just... ate him? no warning or anything?
Can you explain that incident in a bit more detail?

    3. Without warming kinda? Alan botched his introduction and accidently insulted Timothy. Then just ate him without a second thought. Russel tried to hold him back but the Sphinx was far to strong so Alan being the hero used the knack that made sure he stayed as the target of Timothy's rage. It was pretty bad.

    4. wow, that is one pissed off Sphinx...
You know, someone should rid the world of that... i mean, noone would miss Timothy Bennysbane!
