Fragile Sanity

Question: Which of your PC/non PC gods has gone the most batshit from their experiences as mortals?

As mortals? Well... for most of them that was a long time ago, and they've layered escalating levels of divine insanity on top of that original break to the point that it's difficult to remember where the madness began. Many of them were batshit from the outset because they were just broken people - that spark of divinity in action! - while others didn't start losing it until divine interference ruined their worlds.

I suppose the best answer is probably Folkwardr, if you're looking at PC gods who went mad from exposure to some kind of trauma or event in their mortal lives. He had pretty pronounced PTSD thanks to the Revolutionary War even before Vidar tapped him as a Scion, and he didn't really figure out what he was until he had managed to participate in at least another war or two and exacerbate that trauma to a level of extreme twitchiness. Of course, now he has Ragnarok PTSD which is a whole other level, but he was already pretty permanently shell-shocked as a mortal, much the same way many soldiers in the real world are permanently affected by trauma while serving in the military.

I actually don't think any of our other PC gods went insane due to issues that occurred when they were mortal. Eztli, Colin and Yoloxochitl were always broken, Alison, Saki and Zwazo lost their minds due to the divine rather than anything that happened to them as humans, and despite marked trauma as mortals, Jioni, Sowiljr, Vala, Terminus and Sverrir all managed to remain remarkably sane all the way up to godhood.
