Vlog

Today we have a special vlog. I explain it all in the video. But here is a more in depth look at some politics stuff going on in our game and how we organize it.

  1. Sweet! We now which Aesir/Vanir survived Ragnarok. Huzzah! Looks like we won't have to wait until Anne writes that huge Ragnarok story, which would have probably been released in 2016 or something.

Silly John and Anne, trying to keep your future (or past as the case may be) spoilers in your games safe. Silly, silly, silly Storyteller's.

Only witty and mysterious Time Lords are allowed to have annoying spoilers for their fans. It's totally like a internet rule. :)

(This post was created for sole purpose of comedy. I didn't mean to be rude or critical...for the most part. I'd be happy to read the Ragnarok story, spoilers are not, even if does take until 2016 to come out.)

    1. You now know some of the Aesir and Vanir who survived Ragnarok. ;) Glad you were excited to learn!

Most of the people not on this list are dead, but not all of them - some are MIA or have not yet been met by the PCs.

  2. Ok, so, out of the two pantheons with Vengeance in play, your group went and got one stuck in a Titanrealm and the other unable to properly use its PSP...damn, they do love to live dangerously don't they?

Also, I so wanna read about the Trimurti bickering with each other! Also, I just gained new respect for the Tridevi...imagine trying to be the women dealing with these three, who will absolutely insist on bringing their work troubles home with them.

On a different note though, it was good to see concrete proof that just having epic socials isn't enough to save your ass all the time.

Also, I'd love to see something of the godly politics of your Eastern Promises game, probably cuz I'm assuming the Devas might have a more prominent place there, though I realize that, being just at the beginning levels of demigodhood, your players probably don't do much interaction with the Gods.

    1. You're right - the EP folks aren't high enough Legend to really be above minion status in the politics of their game, but when they are, it'll undoubtedly involve heavier Deva/Yazata/Pesedjet/Anunna involvement than the current god-level game has. What they're doing right now does affect divine politics, but in ways they can't see and have no control over, so it has to remain a mystery for now. :)

There will totally be a Deva-heavy story coming soon in the timeline for Aurora's game, though, where the PCs got shanghai'd into the spat between the three of them. The Devas also figured prominently in a recent disaster the players are calling Greeknarok, but that's pretty far off in the future.

They're pursuing a theory of "if we hide from the Dodekatheon and Orisha forever, everything will be fine" at the moment.

    2. Thanks! I notice Aurora's not on the poll though, so whom do I have to vote for to speed that story up?

I find that, in general, Devas are a rare choice for Scion games (on the net at least), and nine out of the ten I've found are Scions of Kali (not that I don't love Kali; she's my personal patron Goddess even), and it will be very interesting, not to mention exciting for me to read about how people across the world look at, and imagine interacting with, the Gods I grew up with, especially when it's someone as talented as you doing the writing :)

(Seriously, the first time I saw Mohini on the character's page, I squeed, just because I'd NEVER seen a Hindu Scion from one of the old Vedic Devas before.)

    3. Aurora's next story can't proceed until Geoff's is resolved, since its plot depends on things in Geoff's next story having already happened. So him, I guess. :) (Will wouldn't hurt, though, since I do need at some point to get his stories churned out before getting too much further in that plot, but he's not as mission critical.)

That makes me so happy! I love having more Deva characters running around in EP. We're all kind of in love with Mohini, Padma and Akhi, and there are more switching in all the time. We're about to have a character switchover, so I believe that Penelope will be returning to represent for the Devas soon.

I always want to sneak off to the side and write more Mohini stories because I love 'em. I may end up doing it soon even if nobody votes for her, but I always feel bad when I push back the voted stories for that.

  3. God politics: it's even worse than it sounds.

  4. Who does destroying the Fate Titanrealm affect the World and mankind?

    1. Destroying the realm has not destroyed Fate itself, nor were any Avatars destroyed during these shenanigans, so it looks deceptively fine for the mortal World. Not much has changed there, and humanity largely hasn't noticed any alteration to their lives.

Legendary creatures, however, have noticed the very distressing fact that Mystery and Prophecy just straight up stopped working, and furthermore that they're getting Fatebonds whenever they spend Legend no matter where they are, even if no mortals are on the same plane as them. Magic spells still work - in fact, they seem to be more effective than ever - but using them also randomly causes strange effects, so life has become a lot harder for the Occult inclined.

The PCs would like to fix the situation... but haven't figured out how yet. Also, they're hiding from the remnants of the Dodekatheon as well as the Orisha like it's their job.

    1. A lot of bananas stuff. The general gist is that the Greeks had been planning a massive crazy event that culminated in a lot of gods giong down and most of the PCs being traumatized for life. They call it "Greeknarok" because the only other event that was as out of control was Ragnarok.
